Suggest a Good Fly In Lodge in Ontario Here

29 December 2015 - 09:50 PM

my cousins and I are trying to put a trip together for I guess late August (but the date is flexible).  Im a musky fisherman so Im hoping to get on a lake with good musky.  Not all the other guys (3) are musky fishermen.  They want to be on a lake that produces fish and want to catch a lot.

They like walleye but are open to trout and other species as well.  Like I said, Im hoping to get on a musky lake but ultimately a lake that has a good diversity of species in good quantities is what we are looking for.

Open to all sorts of suggestions.  Currently looking at Eagle Lake (which looks like it has good lakers and also muskie and walleye).  Also looking at Seul.  I love it there.

If anyone could make suggestions that would be great.  Thanks.

Fishing in Muskoka/Bracebridge area. Algae ? Walleye?

05 September 2015 - 11:23 AM

So my buddy just bought a cottage and we have been fishing in my boat on a nearby lake called 3 Mile Lake.  I was astounded by the lack of pressure on that lake.  Heck we even caught (and ate) a gorgeous walleye at dusk...Then I learned why there are fish and no anglers.  The presence of blue/green algae is toxic and that lake is in pretty rough shape.  I wish I had known before I ate that walleye but I digress.....

In the Bracebridge area/region, what are some of the better lakes for fishing?  How about for walleye?  I know they are hard to come by in the Muskokas but just looking for some cleaner options.  Someone mentioned skeleton lake but Im not so sure at this point.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Where to get live bait near Bracebridge or north of...?

24 August 2015 - 05:14 PM

Looking at going fishing on 3 mile lake just north of Bracebridge this weekend.  I was up there a few weeks ago and had trouble finding a live bait source.  Looking for minnows etc and not worms so much but Ill take worms if I can get em.  Does anyone know where to get live bait around this area?  Thanks

New Bass Pro opened closeby

I generally dont prefer to shop here for tackle - its expensive and there is a good local shop about 25 minutes away but the other day I just popped in.  I needed to get a rod that I could just beat up and one I can give my wife to fish with.  Ended up getting a few things.

Really stoked about trying out the Mepps baits I got for musky fishing.  Wanted something a little lighter to throw than some of the huge bucktails I have.   After a few hours it gets tiring...Hoping they produce.  Anyone use these or any of the other baits in the pic?  The RipnRaps are some of my favorite baits.

Anyone use the jigs on the left at all?  Ive never jigged with these and was wondering if anyone has had success with these fishing for walleye?

The bait below is an old antique topwater lure.  A wooden, painted duck that just putt putts on the top of the water lol.  The flask was a gift from the wife  :)

Bought My First Boat Today

07 August 2015 - 05:47 PM

Got my first boat today.  It is a 2008 Lund 1825 Explorer SS.  It is in really good condition - 45  certified hours only on the engine.  I fish mainly for musky but also pike, walleye...Looking forward to getting it on the water.  Anyone have one of these boats or anything similar? Thanks!
