this is so awesome. How do you guys find such tiny water that have fish in them? Do you just see some water and go... hey I'm gonna throw in there and see what happens?

I'm usually trying to rig everything Texas style just to keep it relatively weedless. I haven't fished them weighted yet either. What's the best way to fish them waited? Just throw a split shot on the line above the eye of the hook or on a small jig head?

I've seen a few different ways. Some folks just use a jig head and others use split shot. I'd suggest putting the split shot up a foot or two from the hook so you don't loose the fall action of the bait.

I've fished Dalrymple a bit this year - if you use a crankbait in that water it'll get eaten by a pike lol I hear there's decent sizes in there but I've only pulled out smaller sized ones. I got a few vids on youtube under orilliafishing if ya wanna see 'em.

wow, fantastic fish. Catching one of those girls is one of my goals - I hope one day I can get a chance to pull one into the boat.

N8 had the best post. Personally I like to junk fish a lake I'm not familiar with. I setup in about 10-15ft of water and cast a bit into shore but more parallel if that makes sense...  and work my way down the bank. I watch my electronics for things of interest and weeds and I'll throw a finesse bait up into areas I can see. Sometimes I'll run down a bank twice with two different baits just to make sure I'm not missing something. I'm pretty novice myself but this has always done well for me in the past.
