There's a place called Alpine Resort, on the south side of Rice Lake.  I know they have a spot on their property, adjacent to their cottages, that they'll rent out as a tent site.  You're definitely NOT out in the woods - but you are concealed from the cottages by a line of Evergreen trees.

Their boat rental price for a 14' Fiberglass boat, with a 9.9HP motor are $100 for the day.  Not sure what they charge for the camping lot - probably not much.  They have a Facebook page - I've always used their Facebook page to set up my boat rentals.

Thanks Guys!

Always wanted to fish that lake. What are you going for? Muskie and walleye?

Walleye, Perch, and Crappie.  I've caught a few Crappie at Rice Lake.  One of which was while doing that drifting with "cutting casts", I had a 3" white/iridescent shallow Rap - that Crappie hit like a bass!  Loved it!

Rice Lake is in Zone 17 - bass doesn't open until the following weekend...

This is how I SUP fish, works great.

SUP?  What does this stand for?  The very first trip to Rice Lake, a buddy I went with was wacky-rigging 6" white worm plastics - as soon as that thing hit the water the bass would ANNIHILATE that thing.  Of course, I've tried it on a few outings since then, and haven't been able to duplicate the success!  It amazes me what will work great one trip, is absolutely useless the next. lol  But spending a day on the water trying to discover what is going to work if most of the fun!

I use braid almost exclusively.  The first I ever tried was the Spiderwire, it was not a good braid experience - my issue wasn't with twist, but rather fraying.  I've since started using Sufix braid, and have never had a problem with it.
