Caught this out of a local creek in southern Ontario and not too sure about the id.

I've caught Green Sunfish, and Bluegill in the same location.

I'm confused since the colour of its belly seems off for a Green Sunfish. And it's opercular flap seems only black.

Any suggestions?

I've never fished Bronte, and want to get out next week for some shore fishing.

Can anyone recommend an area (or two) where the shore is accessible to fish (I'm not familiar with it, in the least).

I'm not looking for secret locations or anything, just a place where I can park and do some shore fishing (for anything that bites!)
