Was there twice last week - feels like its had tons of pressure there was zip.  I hit all weedlines, lilypads, spinner, cranks, topwater, dropshot and not a nibble.  kids were fishing with worms and catching litttle sunfish but I'm thinking its fished out.  Its conversation which is supposed to be catch and release (except for the trout they release in spring you gotta keep those) but there are many times this summer I've seen people ignoring the rule and taking anything they can cook.  I think thats what happened to the bass here.  i won't go back.

Thanks for the advice on the reel!  I'm exercising the arm to work out the kinks, I know my spincast wasn't the "cause" but a stronger, longer rod and baitcast reel should help - I'm clearly trying to cast too far with a setup meant for finesse fishing (as you mentioned).  Its a great pole for the river where I live where I do lots of jigs and dropshot setups, but I've invested in a little boat and enjoy success with crankbaits lately.  I think I'll pick at least the reel up and take your advice on a stiffer rod!  Thanks again...

Yup, just picked a bunch up at dollarama and broke down to purchase decent Mepps spinners :).  A lot of liquidation places selling fishing stuff too will have a look this week.  Going to Pinehurst camping this weekend, LG mouth in that lake I've read!

Oh my bad you said leader... yeah I guess if you're switching out lures to test other colours that would make it easier.  I didn't realize leaders were fluorocarbon as well.  Heh, and here I told my wife 'its good I've picked up fishing again, its one of the cheapest hobbies I can have!'.
