Last Friday i fished Mimico Creek in West Deane Park, just north of Martin Grove and Rathburn. I fished a small tube on a very light jig head. The creek very clear and shallow. I walked a stretch of the creek, but was able to find only one moderately deep pool. That's where I caught 2 creek chub. No bites anywhere else, and although the creek is shallow and clear so you can pretty much see all the way to the bottom I didn't see any fish anywhere except the 2 I caught. Not that I was expecting much, but since this is my local creek I gave it a try just out of curiosity.

Island Lake bass
07 July 2018 - 10:57 PM
In 3 evenings of fishing Island Lake I caught about 10 bass, the biggest one was 3.3 pounds. I also caught a small pike and a sunfish.
Top water and worms worked best for me on this lake. The lake is shallow and moderately weeded with very clear water. It offers a lot of shore fishing opportunities. You can expect company especially of you are going on a weekend.
Marie Curtis Park

I fished Etobicoke Creek at Marie Curtis yesterday, mainly because I had no time to go some place outside the GTA.
It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I caught 3 rock bass and 1 tiny smallmouth all on a small swimbait. no big fish, but it was a lot of fun with very light tackle. I heard from another fisherman that there are some big smallmouth in there. Went back today, but no luck.

Fished this place for 2 days 3 weeks ago. Caught a bunch of small pike on all kinds of lures. what's strange is that they were all about the same size (a pound and a half roughly), no bigger fish whatsoever. The lake was clear and weeded. As I went on a weekend I had a lot of company. Everyone was catching only small pike. Lots of shore access especially along the rail tracks. Be careful if you wanna fish there though. On the second day a cop came over and asked everyone to leave, apparently it is illegal to be that close to rail tracks, he could have given everyone tickets if he had wanted to.
Highway 400 and Canal Road

Greetings everyone, this is my first report. I fished this location for the first time about a month ago. I was fishing for pike, but only caught a few small bass. The water was very murky and slightly weeded along the shore. I saw a few other people fishing with live worms, don't know if they caught anything. Went again last week for a few hours, caught one bass, still no sign of pike. Now the weeds have expanded almost half way across the canal. Seems worth trying to target bass when season opens.
I wonder if anyone has tried fishing the other canal running along South Canal Bank Road?
