    I lost my Mini King..

I've never heard so much weeping and wailing about a $5.00 spinnerbait! Stop your sniveling and go to Wal-Mart. You might want to buy two new ones. One to use and one to keep in your purse!

    red hooks

The colour red is the first to disappear underwater. Depending on the water clarity, red will just appear to be black somewhere between 5 and about 12 feet down. Red hooks, tabs, paint-jobs etc. might help to catch fish in shallow water, but mainly they catch fishermen...GRIN. Just for the...

    It wasn't a Fluke...or was it?

6 cylinder Mercury Black Max 150hp, 6 inch jack plate and 23 inch stainless steel prop. Trimmed out with a light load, it does 93 or 94 KPH, on the GPS, but she will do 90Kph any day of the week.

    It wasn't a Fluke...or was it?

Today I went fishing for LMBass. The lake we chose was east of Stoney, off #46, it's sometimes called Kosh. There is a large weedy bay called Bass Bay. We cast Flukes and ran spinnerbaits over and through the weeds. For those that don't know, a Fluke is a plastic minnow that looks like this...

    Fishing from a canoe???

I too have used a canoe. It wasn't much better than wading! The last time I used it I caught a couple of Muskies in Eel's Creek, down near Stoney Lake and gave it up as a bad idea. You have to haul a thrashing, slimy, toothy critter over the side and into your lap to unhook and release...

    Sunday Fishing...Without Rain!!! hahaha

One of the lakes that I guide on is call Chandos. I went there today with my neighbor and his daughter to try out my new rod and to check out some locations for Pike and Bass. We started at the boat ramp on Hwy #620 and worked south along the east shore checking small bays for medium size Pike...

    Shore fishing

No one has offered any suggestions in the last 5 hours. Either they are out fishing or they don't have any suggestions... Why don't you jump in the car and bring Dad up to the Kawarthas where you can rent a boat or hire a guide and catch some real fish? Yes it will cost a few dollars, but...

    I lost my Mini King..

I am very sorry to hear of your loss...I will light a candle. During this period of mourning I suggest you re-spool with 20 lb Power Pro on your spinning reels and 30 to 50 pound on your casting reels. Please learn to tie the Palomar and the Uni knot, so that we don't have to go through this...

Time to get Real. let us know.

Being retired, I am also available those days. I can supply a boat that will carry two or three guests and lots of lakes to fish in. I also have a house where we could have a BBQ afterwards. Garry2rs

Do you know anyone who can fix broken rod ?

Call the shops that were mentioned to see if they have someone they send their work to. You can also try Aikman's in Toronto and Rockey's in Orrillia. Both places are official tackle repair shops for companies that don't have Canadian offices. They must have, or know, someone that can do this...

Who here knows how to flip & pitch ?

Flippin is a town in Arkansas where this technique supposedly originated. Most of us did this as kids with cane poles or with cheap reels that didn't cast very well, so you might find you are already familiar with the cast. You can use any rod, but as noted above longer rods give you more...

Do you know anyone who can fix broken rod ?

In the picture it appears to me that only the metal ferrel is broken. If the rod is intact and you just need a new ferrel that shouldn't be to hard to get fixed
