Always have all your documents because the OPP is doing a blitz on the water.

I was pulled over a few weeks ago while yak fishing in Simcoe. The CO’s were great and just asked if I had the license and all the emergency stuff. I showed them and then they pointed me in the direction to were bigger bass and pike were. Was my first time being pulled over on the water and I...

    Salmon

Yeah it is an early go at them, but I always like to get out early. I’m also over an hour away from them, fortunately my job allows me some freedom to get out. So most definitely won’t be the last trip. I also go early that way I can hit the Hamilton tribs and western tribs as well...

    Salmon

I’ve been following the river cameras and looks like the eastern tribs have started along with reports I’ve gathered from friends. The Salmon derby is well on its way. I will be making my way up there early Tuesday morning and traveling along the coast hitting up all of the tribs for a six...

    Adventure

That’s a bat cave, I went fishing there as a kid with my dad for Brookies and we ventured into it, to find tons of bats clung to the walls and ceilings.

    My elusive nemesis” the pike”

I live in the Kitchener area and have fished the grand river my whole life. The one thing I love about it is how diverse the fishing can be. We have resident brown trout and the rare resident rainbow, small mouth and large mouth bass, walleye, pike, every bottom feader you can think of. But I...

    Fishing Little Lake, any tips?

Little lake is very weedy and when I say very I mean don’t fall in. The boats are sketchy to say the least. There are bass there but it’s pressured a lot so the population has gone down drastically. The rental prices are low but I don’t feel it justifies fishing there. Just my honest opinion

    My elusive nemesis” the pike”

This may sound weird to some, but there has been one mystery that has always eluded me “catching a pike.” That’s correct I’ve caught many many fish in my days of fishing but the pike has always been the one fish that has always slipped by me. No matter what lure or bait I’ve never been...

New bass lures to give a try

I also forgot to mention. Lunkerhunt dragonfly and Yappa Frog. Love them for top water. If your using a bait caster with at least 30 pound braided line then try weedless punch rigs for undercut and bulrushes, I always tend to find the bigger hogs hiding out in those.

New bass lures to give a try

Also try out buzz baits, they’re fantastic early morning as well with watermelon yum dinger or wooly bugger crawdad. make sure to use trailer hooks if you do use long plastic trailers. A great place to get some awesome bass, pike and musky lures is blackfly lures.” I’m not affiliated with...

    Yaks

Thanks for the advice Chrome. I took my maiden voyage out in Georgian bay and man what an experience. Now unfortunately they don’t sell inline flashers up this way, according to the tackle shops it’s not a popular rig with the yak fishermen here. So I had to settle with a 8 inch flasher to...

    Yaks

Haven’t been on in awhile. Broke both my arms a few months back and during that time I have been reading up and watching all of the yak videos people have been posting. I’m very familiar with a lot of fishing except yak fishing so after watching and reading and investigating everything I...

Great day on the Grand, 2 tiny fish...

There’s been many a times I would do more talking with others or just sitting at the side of the river observing then actually fishing. I remember when I first started fly fishing over 20 years ago and all the help I received from the veterans of the sport. I find it awesome that more and more...
