Changing skirts on spinnerbaits /w trailers???

What kind of replacement skirt? Are your trailers non-fixed with a piece of rubber stopper? Easy answer, I'll just take the trailer off and put it back on after I changed the skirt.

    Spawning Seasons?

I know there is steelhead in the Ganny, not sure about brown trout. You might want to check the regs when the season is open/closed.

    Fish/wildlife photos from recent trip

Nice pics! I too liked the trout feeding series. Looks like you got a high quality camera. The shots are very clear and crisp.

    Creek Salmon

Very nice! That's pretty massive; and on light gear to boot!

Give it a couple weeks and I think you'll start to see some steelhead and Brown trout coming into the rivers

    Gutting/Fileting pike

My intuition tells me it would still be stressed out. Now, I didn't know this either until the lodge owner, our guide for the day, and "experienced" bushman, George, took us on a portage to a secret pike lake. Man o' Man what an adventure. George was I think 71 years of age at the time and...

    Long Lake Sudbury

Nice write up. Too bad about not having much success during the day from shore. Only time I know when you can get lakers close to shore is ice-out around feeder creeks, river mouths and just off drop-offs.

    Gutting/Fileting pike

Here's a couple tips I learned on culling pike when I was up on a trip to Kipawa, QC. When you decide you want to keep a pike for the pan, upon catching (kinda guesome), use a sharp knife and sever from the gills up to the backbone - cutting the nerves from the brain to the body. Pike, when...

Anyone else fish the kawartha's (south east)?

I have, but not in the past year. I went with the ex-gf and stayed at a friends on avery point. Nobody was a fisher, so I was the only sob that got up at the crack of dawn and had to head back to take the others on a boat ride when they got up. For the few hours of fishing I got in, I...

    musky trip location???

You could also give Balsam Lake PP at try; not sure about dockage or the rv but there are muskies and walleye to be had. Plus it's not a long haul. Hope everything works out for ya!

Anyone else fish the kawartha's (south east)?

I've been meaning to write up a detailed report to submit including Canal, Mitchell and Balsam Lake. Just hard to find the time. I fish more the western and Central Kawarthas but would lke to read up on Buckhorn and Sturgeon. I'll make an entry when the stars allign and join in on the...

    musky trip location???

I've camped in Massassauga Provincial Park, in the Moon River Basin. Sites are water access only, no docks, but you can ask for a site that would be suitable to beach your boat, I've done this before. Musky numbers in that area of the moon is thin, but when you do land one it's a hog as it's...

Sept 19th-Erindale Park The Wee hours!

Wow, sorry to hear about this iJay, a sad state of affairs indeed. I'm caucasian, but fish with friends of other ethnicities (chinese, goan, guayanese) and I've never encountered this type of treatment. I've heard about prevelant racism around the Kawarthas that, at times, has spilled into...

Sept 19th-Erindale Park The Wee hours!

The fish are there for sure iJay. I got one last week, well before the dam  With this rain raising water levels there should be a masive run going on now = many more fish. I expect the rain will also make the water more choco-milky. Use a bright-coloured [chartreuse] row bag...

    you guys want salmon??

I'm in agreement with the others, a low pound test is plenty sufficient for salmon, given technique when landing them. I've already mentioned loosening your drag, applying pressure when needed with a finger on the spool. iJay rightfully emphasizes use of the rod to absorb most of the fight and...
