    Tips for Moon River

I fish the Moon once or twice a year, usually in the spring and fall when the fish move in or out of Gbay. For walleye troll worm harnesses at 1.5 mph in 8-12foot water with good cabbage growth, any faster and you'll get into pike and the incidental musky. That works in the spring, by Mid...

    Kawartha Spring Crappie

So I went fishing from Sunday to Monday this past Easter Weekend with my good buddy. When we arrived we noted the water was about 3 feet low of regular and the water temps were, well, darn cold. We tried it all, techniques mentioned above amongst others, in deep, shallow, stained, weedy, mud...

    1st Pike Casts

I'll be up in the Kawarthas this weekend. Ice just moved out off most lakes last week. While I'll be tragetting crappies mostly, I'll have a baitcast ready to go with a jerkbait to scratch that pike itch lol.

    Kawartha Spring Crappie

Thank NADO. I'll look for some of them pink fluffy jigs when I go to LeBarons before I head up this weekend. Thanks for your input, much appreciated.

    Fishing salmon Skein for bows

FTB is absolutly right. Thumbs up dude. While I do not condone the practice, this gentleman was within his right to keep/posess this fish, caveat that he held a valid license at the time and applied angling method in accordance with those rules. Lots of studies go into determining catch...

    Canal lake pike tips

I fish on Canal regularly; there are many shore access spots to fish from. Many frequent the causeway bridge that runs through the Northern half of the lake. I can also suggest trying around the swing bridge near Bolsover. Early season pike favorites are the x-rap, williams spoons, inline...

    Down Riggers

Although I don't own one, a friend of mine swears by his Cannon 5 ST. Fast retrieval (I think its 250 per minute), fewer moving parts and a one piece composite construction.

    Reel-sidedness HELP

When buying my first baitcaster I also came across the same issue. I too spin lefty. I made the decision to go with a left-handed baitcaster and don't regret it. True, more righties out there on the market...but I don't buy what the market dictates. Going lefty was not only more comfortable...

    Kawartha Spring Crappie

Hello all, The Kawarthas have been opened up to year round panny fishing just a couple years ago and while it may be premature to get any expertise, how have you gone about targetting crappie on the Kawartha Lakes? What techniques did you use? I'm looking to go as soon as the ice gets off the...

    Fishing Rod???

If you want sensitivity, qualitiy guides, light, good seat for a quality price...I would pair up the real with a Fenwick HMX. I got two and love 'em over most other rods, ugly stick included. Now depending on the application, its best to determine what specs you need on the rod, say if its a...

    Need a rod for trolling

Fibreglass rods for trolling, they can handle more abuse than graphite. Look for a rod that has good backbone but a soft tip, many good brands out there: Okuma Classic Pro, Shimano TDR

    PIKE- Best lures for PIKE

All good lures that I use, but don't want to repeat, above. I would add two more: Swim baits on a weighted hook 4-6inch range, great for working weeds A "walk-the-dog" type topwater, like a zara spook. They just explode on that side-to side action.
