Worms! If you have them :P Or I find that a small, white plastic grub is a suitable alternative to a worm. But for carp you'd probably have to use bread or corn on the hook.

Walk, explore, try different areas. You will be rewarded. My first carp came from walking along the rouge looking for suckers. I heard big splashes, investigated the general area, and saw carp jumping. Wasn't long before I hooked into my first carp. Excellent fish to go after!

hahaha, it actually is still usable to this day. It just needs to be re pumped after an hour or two. No disaster, it just makes for a funny story, and it was bound to happen eventually. :P

If you head out in an inflatable, it shouldn't be a problem. i got a beach toy at Canadian tire for $10 last summer... and fished from it good times... until a stray hook punctured it LOL
