    French river kayak fishing

last year I was fishing a very remote spot in northern Ontario - you have to portage from the main lake to the "fishing lake" which is only done by river, and it's quite hairy. We actually just take the motors off the boats on one side and have boats waiting on the other side for our motors...

    Torpedoing fish.

most of the time if you do that with a carp or sheephead it helps them "take a deep breath" I find. unless little bass or perch (which i just toss back in) - the rest you can and should revive before you release as long as you are in a boat or on foot by the water..pier fishing you often have...

    Frustration!!!!!

nothing more frusterating than being a good fisherman/woman and not being able to get the drift you want because you are unable to cast the distance with accuracy.

    Frustration!!!!!

without a doubt the reel that costs 500 dollars that is made specifcally for float fishign is going to be better, thats a given. just saying if you have a long rod with proper weights and float - you should still be able to run a setup that catches you fish just as good as anyone else. it's...

    Frustration!!!!!

I absolutely hated used a float reel, I said F it, sold it and bought myself a nice spinning reel and my drifts are just as good as anyone's. Open the bail, use your fingers to let the line go through nicely and boom shakalaka the steelies are on. It's not for everyone! Just thought id chime...

    Combat Fishing

Reminds me of fishing at the C River - first major bend where some D bag "Dan" comes and stands 2 ft away from you when there is the entire river to fish. It's like someone tailing you on the highway for no reason OR Someone standing behind you in line and you can feel them breathing on you...

    Spoon Chuckin' the East

3/4 oz spoons, get a number of different colours and keep chucking til one hits. someone mentioned reeling in right away, i dunno about that, i'd certainly give it a 8-10 second count to make sure the lure is deep enough. They WILL chase it up as you reel in. glow in the dark are great...

    Starting out Carp Fishing

tough time of the year to start carp fishing, just sayin check out fishing stores for carp food. my tactics are nothing like most peoples, but thats your best bet a long rod that has some backbone, 7+ ft for sure and a reel that can handle a 20+ pound fish. i use 30 lb braided with 10 pound...

Hey guys, I was recently in Dryden fishing for walleye, and killed it as you could imagine. worms, minnows, frozen shiners, leeches. I was wondering if anyone knows somewhere around Hamilton I could get some frozen shiners to fish with, salted would be ideal, but not needed. any ideas or...

Port Credit: Salmon “pier” fishing tips for noobs

A good call no doubt. I may be a sucker, but I always tend to spend a bit extra so in my mind I feel more confident in the reel/rod/line combination. Personally, I didnt like the Arbor only because the spool case was thinner than most other reels i've used.
