yessir, Pike it is. I call that the legendary 'pencil pike' any fish caught is a good one! unless of course its a gobie :)

some good tips in here already, but the most versatile lure of them all is the jig. dont underestimate how good it is...grab a few different sizes and colors and models if you wish...get a variety of tails, twister tails work well (yellow, white, chartreuse) are my favorites personally... work...

6' LG customs ultra light with powerpro green 20 lb (8lb dia) with 6lb floro tipits when running spinners or 1/8 oz jig heads usually going for browns, and will get the odd bass, pike, walleye or even the odd drum. you can up the floro lb if you are getting snagged a lot so you dont lose as...

I'm not into it either, there are a lot of other fish out there I feel would be more appetizing...esp. if its a Sheephead from the bay ;) You know when you have a sheephead on though, they shake their heads a lot and go down, and not usually too far out... a lil tip for those are newer to...

Well its nothing special, but a nice fight on my ultra light. got a couple pike already, but this is my first fish with a picture (not that I'm in it) 3/8 oz jig w yellow tail. enjoy.

great shots. as for the shoulder to shoulder and rune manners...i hear that, i dont even bother fishing until opener and even then im going to spots where i would be amazed if i saw more than 1-2 groups of people. the biggest fishing D bags are out at these times and they are not even fishing...

I always bring a wide variety of colors and sizes; sometimes pending on clouds, water stain, time of day (and many other factors) they will like 1 color one day, and another the next...or morning/day/night. what im getting at, is there is no real true color that always works....best bet is to...

i like the variety.

for carp it's all about a nice 30-50 pound braided line and a 24-36 inch tip of Floro (12-15 pound) is what i roll with... strength is there, reduced visibility of the floro, and no stretch as you want to feel the carp take your bait or lure as they are good at spitting out whatever they dont...

Hey guys, Got out the other day before the monster lightening storm hit - got a walleye first, then about 30 minutes later got the pike on my ultra light. rare rod: 6ft LG customs rod - see if anyone can put two and two together on who makes those rods now :) Have a great weekend everyone.
