;) thats my little secret but i will tell you that in the spring and in the fall the carp will come somewhat close to the surface and in some places you can sight fish them.

right on, ive caught a few with a jigging spoon before and at first look i thought it was a gobie, but after looking closer i noticed they were log perch, pretty cool and unexpected...ive probley got about 5 of them over the last 8 years just randomly...not sure if they were all the same exact...

hey just a bit off topic here but i noticed the little note under your comment about the species you catch and life list, etc.. im sure you have got one, but catch many log perch?> i've got a few in my day, and id imagine with 393 species caught you have got one. just curious, thats all, good...

again thanks guys, all caught on lures, not one of those fish was caught with live bait...or corn, or anything like that - goes for the carp too! ;) i got plenty more pics but i didnt want to flood on my first thread :P

couldnt have said it better about the largies! i got one that i swear was 8 pounds, it was 6.5...my biggest ever. it was just sooo soooo much bigger than the 6lb smally i got i figured it had to be 8. so yeah, i hear ya!

fishing shoulder to shoulder with arrogant fisherman is not my cup of tea. ive literally got to a spot at 5am, secured my spot while its still dark out (fishing 5 ft from my buddy) and some jerk off will come stand between us...its the most pathetic "fishing" ive ever been part of. its sad...

thanks guys, i set a goal every year for # of fish and i keep tally of all the species i catch (i dont include creek chub, gobies) i like to see year to year what species i get and how many of each - fun to look back at. thanks for the compliments on the fish :razz:

if you are using splitshots id try to keep them elbow to finger tip away - you can use more than 1 split shot too. if i have a bobber or a float i like to put a bit bigger of a split shut just under the float so that it swims nice in the water keeping it straight up and down. if you start to...
