    What Amazing Colours

Next time I see someone land a steelhead, I'll tell them they have a nice cock. With a little luck, it'll become a trend and steelheaders all over the province will be complimenting each other on their cocks and winking.

No Charges Laid to 2 People Caught in Sanctuary....WTH

It's the non-native meat hunters who have damaged the fishery there. A couple natives practicing their rights isn't a big deal.

No Charges Laid to 2 People Caught in Sanctuary....WTH

The natives here know they can get away with it. It wasn't luck.

    What Amazing Colours

They don't all change color at the same time, but they start getting lighter once they're done spawning.

    Beginner Steelheader spin reel setup

I personally wouldn't recommend a spinning reel for float fishing on rivers, but it'll still work fine in a lot of situations.

    Spring salmon run

There are salmon that run in the spring here in Southern Ontario, but it's incredibly rare. A lot of experienced fisherman here aren't even aware that it happens.

So what's your game plan on opener

April 23rd for most places. In some specific places it's May 14th.

    So WHAT is ethical?

A sanctuary is where you can't fish at all :) It's true that a lot of steelhead get killed on the lake. The limit would need to be reduced there as well.

    So WHAT is ethical?

The reduction from 1 to 0 would have dramatically more positive effect than 2 to 1.

    So WHAT is ethical?

A 0 fish limit would have made for a much better fishery on the tributaries east of Toronto.

WHY DO I NEVER EVER CATCH ANY FISH!?!

Keep trying. Take a look at what other people are doing. Try different things and see what works. You'll eventually figure it out.

Conservation Area Out of Season Bass?

The purpose of having a closed season for fish is to protect them from angling during part of the year.

    Anyone find suckers yet?

Not every MNR officer will accept the sucker excuse. There are plenty of suckers in the year-round sections right now.

lures and lure sizes for spring trout

Lures are different than bait. In my experience, you don't have to carry a bunch of different sizes for steelhead as they tend to prefer a certain size. With some experimenting, you can probably figure out what size works. For color, anything with a silver flash generally works. Combinations...

    Anyone find suckers yet?

No one here enjoys catching suckers?

    Sasquatch and the Steelhead

That's what happens when you fish for steelhead for too long.

    Yarn/Yarnies/Yarnballs

I use to see people use them before beads took over. This was a few years ago.

How to Push Someone out of a Hole

Looking back I've never really had a problem with other people except for this one time when a couple guys took my spot while I was fighting a fish. I was kind of pissed that they took my spot like that without even asking, but mostly at the reality that steelheaders act so desperate for the...
