Once you look at it from a line diameter point of view, the different brand names start to look more similar in terms of performance.

He probably didn't know that most centerpin reels don't have drag.

I don't know about you guys, but a drag would take the fun out of fighting fish on a centerpin for me.

The Sheffield DRii has drag and spins freely, but it costs more than a regular Sheffield (around 350).

I find that moderate slush is ok, but there comes a point where it's not really fishable. Most important thing is getting the lure/bait down. With a float I reel it in until it the rig finds an opening and goes down. With lures I stand upstream and try to dodge the ice by moving the rod around...

That can be used under the ice?

They're still eating, but there's not a lot of food for them during the winter. A hungry steelhead will take what you throw at it.
