Port Perry or Caesarea? Scugog Walleye Trip

ok thanks a lot buddy, that was my thought as well. And ive only caught one from scugog, 5.2 pounds so I can imagine theres a few lunkers, but I don't mind. If I get one or two eaters that'd be a bonus.

Port Perry or Caesarea? Scugog Walleye Trip

Not through the ice, I've only been on scugog in my boat. I'm going to try near ceasarea next Friday and hopefully land a few. As long as I find some perch and crappie to keep me busy though i'll be ok.

Port Perry or Caesarea? Scugog Walleye Trip

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew what arm of Lake Scugog would be best to get hooked into some nice eyes. I know the right side close to caesarea is the deepest in the lake, But that doesn't always guarantee fish. Any tips on whereabouts to go on the lake would be extremely helpful.

First Trip to Algonquin, & my first trout

Nice, how do you manage to jig vertically when the water gets that deep? We had most of our luck on blue and silver, My lucky lure had blue and pink on the edges, seemed to work pretty well for an inexperienced trout angler haha

First Trip to Algonquin, & my first trout

We were trolling Williams Wablers and EGB's about 50-150 feet down. We tried jigging here and there but it was our first time dealing with such a deep lake, so I couldn't for the life of me get my lure to go down vertically, it'd always go diagonally. We must've seen a few of those 12 pounders...

Not the summer I was expecting.....HELP!!

Definitely a downgrade like he said, but I still land a lot of nice fish. If you have chest waders, you can slowly dissect the rivers here pretty quickly. I fish the grand, speed and Nith almost religiously. In Preston there are some great spots for smallmouth, I find pike here aren't always in...

First Trip to Algonquin, & my first trout

Hey, thought i'd share some pictures from Ralph Bice lake from a few weeks ago. My friends and I went on a 5 day canoe trip june 18-22, and I have to say I was surprised how gorgeous that place is. I only saw one small lake, but if you're into beautiful landscapes, this is a great lake to go...

Finally! My first Walleye, 5.2 pounder

Hey Guys, it's been a while since I've posted, but I had to share this beauty. I wish someone would've told me Walleye can put up such a strong fight, I would've targeted them a lot sooner. So the story behind this Monster( to me at least), I was at Scugog Lake last sunday with a few friends...

Help picking out new rod and reel

I don't know If anybody has mentioned Daiwa rods, but they seem pretty solid for the price. I just have a cheap Daiwa Heartland 8'6" Medium action 2 piece. I used it mainly for bass at the start, but I now tend to use it for carp fishing now, So it definitely has the strength to fight the bulk...

    belt bag, vest or backpack

How much tackle do you usually bring? I personally try to cut out as much weight as I can, It just slows me down. if you're on the move a lot, and don't have an abundance of lures and gear to bring, I'd opt for a vest. I know a lot of my buddy's like to bring a backpack so they can carry pretty...

Anyone ever gone on a fly in fishing trip?

I can't speak from personal experience as I've never taken a fly-in or tain-in trip. But I've heard a lot of good things about the train in trips, pretty affordable compared to fly in. I could be totally wrong, but it seems like a great idea, get to see nature on the trip to your lodge, and then...

What is your personal favourite lure

I seem to always find myself relying on a 1/4-3/4 oz. Boo Yah Bait Spinner bait, The Golden shiner color pretty much decimated all my other lures in the rivers around me. So easy to change your retrieve speed, depth, etc.. on a spinner bait I don't go out with a few of my favorite color patterns.

    Mass Fish Death

I don't usually find myself wanting to go to any of the grca run lakes, I usually just frequent the rivers, but that's definitely something to look into. Thanks
