Cortland 444,is fine.....clean it with dish soap and stretch it....after you swing your fly let it come 15 feet behind you and let the fly come up to the surface use the tension of the water behind you,with fly and line still in the water to roll cast....should work after you get your timing down

when water is low n clear,mysis shrimp in a size 16.....generic prince nymphs seem to out produce most other flies for me,day in,day out for the great lake tribs

you will see small snow stoneflies on the snow along the river banks in southern Ontario,sparse tie,in 18s or 20s,mysis shrimp in 18s too...later in the day midges if the fish are lookin up

Tippet rings for dry flies,just and a touch of floatant to it...micro swivels for nymphs...both give you the luxury of adding the proper strength and length and type of tippet material,if you keep a tag end line off the micro swivel sometimes a good place to add shot
