Erindale park and river fishing help

Sorry to bust your chops about "white buckets" cause it seems like you have this mentality about a certain type of people. Don't be surprised when you see many of your kind doing the dirty dirty. Salmon season brings the worst out of many kinds of people not just one kind. Don't be one of them...

    RICE LAKE FISH DECLINE ?

People always blaming it on the "white bucket brigade" for their lack of catches. Maybe the issue isn't them but yourself. Plenty of fishes to be had in rice lake. The issue is that people are scared to change their tactics. Always doing the same thing year after year. This year the lake is...

    Where all da trout !

There's no way in stopping the bass from taking your bait when you're trying to fish drop backs. The bass are really aggressive at this time and will hit your bait well before the steelhead even has a chance to go for it. If those guys were using crayfish then its obvious that those guys were...

Shallow Clear Creeks - Steelhead Fishing

The mistake I see happen all the time is that people usually have the same set up regardless of which creek, river they fish in. Don't be afraid to change your set up according to what you'll be fishing in. This is what sets the good fisherman/woman a part from everyone else.

    Skunked on Opener? Vent here...

Went out east after work on Sat afternoon and managed to land two. I didn't think I was going to get anything with all the pressure in the morning and the sun beaming down. Went out west Sunday and landed 7. Best part about Sunday was that there was no one around.

So what's your game plan on opener

Never under estimate the old timers. They'll make you eat your words. My dad is 66 and he doesn't fish that much anymore but when I take him out he'll flex that arch for me to see. I get a good laugh out of it but in the end I can tell that he's happy to be on the river fishing again.

So what's your game plan on opener

The Maitland is one of the best river we have here in Southern Ontario. You want a challenge in catching some chrome go try the Maitland. So many times I've seen people get skunked (even guides guiding people) but once you find the fishes its rewarding.

    Spring salmon run

If you time it correctly, you can catch salmon at the mouth during the spring time. There's a small window to catch and after that might as well wait til the fall run.

    Pre tied rigs

I never pre-tie my leaders cause its the easiest part of the rig to tie.

    I've Got a Problem

Considering its more of a want thing than a need, I'd go all out and get a custom rod. Getting a custom rod will definitely fulfill your desires. This is just my opinion but I wouldn't get a Streamside, Okuma, Browning and etc considering your Raven IM8 is a better rod. If your willing to spend...

Any guides? Or super nice folks

Steelheading takes time and patience, no need to feel embarrassed if you're not hooking up. It seems like you've already learned the basics already so its just a matter of time before you start hooking up on a consistent basis. Everyone has a different approach to catching steelhead and when...

    Schneider creek kitchener?

Take the walk or drive down to the Grand River. That section of the Grand River where you live holds fishes. I suggest you try there and forget the creek unless you want to catch creek chubs ( that's even if there's any in that creek ) lol

    Fishing in Iceland

I was in Iceland beginning of February and one of the tour guide mentioned that one of the lakes there (the biggest lake) holds like 4-5 different species of trout. The lake is like a 30-40 min drive from Reykjavik. Mentioned that 30lbs brown trout are common in the lake. As for fishing, I was...

    Beads

Every river/creek is different so set up according to which river/creek you'll be fishing in. I would suggest tying your bead once you know exactly the kind of water you'll be fishing in. The size of bead and colour varies depending on water clarity and depth. If the water is clear and low, I...
