Living back in texas we used to hook salemanders onto the hook and catch large mouth bass. That was the prefered bait over there. Seemed cruel especially when they call em water dogs

Can we get a head count Of the people camping out? If so any ideas where? I know a few bush spots by the river but the owners would get mad if i brought along a bunch of people. Saugeen concervation? They have full campspots right by the river shore its nice. Im actually on the saugeen tribs...

i went to upper grand by shands.. nothing.. then i went to the saugeen and saugeen tribs.. nothing, then i went to sydeham river and found a area with a small dam and caught 3 decent specks on my 2wtt. Forgot my cellphone in the truck and i was a good 15 minute hike up the river. Probably 9-11...

i will be there there the 10/11th.

With all this rain expected i'm either going to hit up upper grand, upper credit or go up north owen soundish Saugeen/tribs/bighead river.

Saugeen..... is pretty bad shape right now. low water levels, but the little tiny ones are super active... the whole time i felt nibles from them, but didn't catch anything. Going to Forks of Credit by Caledon on my way back to Toronto early morning hopefully i can put this 2wt to some good use.

going to saugeen, big head and nearby tribs around there tuesday and wensday. will update when i come back, checked the weather chance of showers... hopefully

Chrome you against taking a fish for personal consumption? I love fishing and fish, but when im out in the wilderness i like to eat them too. Ofcource with the notion that no fish goes to waste.

There is a few conservation areas on the saugeen where camping is allowed. We should look into it and reserve some spots if going for more than a day. A nice bon fire and fresh caught fish would be a great meal.
