Great spring run this year!

Just got back from a week of fishing. I'm really happy with the line I bought. Lost my first fish but ended up with 3 or four steelies a day. Had a blast.

Having a swivel above the shot line has helped me save from a lot of twisting in my line and having to cut off yardage on my mainline. As far as the time it takes me to change up gear on the water, I don't really give a shit because I'm not at work.

It put float on the mainline so if I snag the shot line I don't loose my float

Worst comes to worst you can head down to east Hastings street and pretend your catching fish.

Thanks. I would rather use a uni knot than a swivel but I figured the swivel would help keep the twist out of my main line. I could see how the swivel above the bobber could damage my rod. Good advice, as that would really piss me off.

If I am using braided main line swivelled to a mono dropper and then swivelled to a floro lead line fishing in 2-6 ft of water, how long should the dropper line and lead line be?

Thanks for the replies. I know that it will we fine for strength but will the small diameter of 8lb braid effect me negatively. Realized after I put it on that most people would go closer to 15 lb.

I had 8lb braided Berkley fire line (crystal) put on my centre pin reel for float fishing steelhead. Realizing this is low lb for braided line, will this be ok?

Great topic. It's nice to see that some people still care for the land and water. Whenever I am around kids fishing, especially my own kids, I alway spend a few minutes cleaning up the area I fish. This will be something I hope my kids pass on to my grandchildren and rub off on the other fishers...
