A few questions for you fine folks

Yep you can use a pin on that. Depending on the size of rivers you fish I would suggest going up to a 13 footer-but it all depends on the waters you fish.

CJR: Have you ever caught any fish on the 14mm? They look like you couldn't even fit them in a fishes mouth. LordMyKiss: Have the same bead box from CAC, love it! Definitely a sweet selection you have there. Might post my box later.

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I have learned a few issues to fix like not snelling the raven wide gaps. Thanks again, will try my luck again nest weekend

How long do steel head run?

Steelheard start trickling into rivers in september but the main steel fishing is mid oct to december. They are around all winter, through to mid may. So they are around from september to may to clarify. They don't leave until after they spawn, so most leave in april or may depending on water...

    Hook set with beads

I have a 12.9 raven matrix, I use an 11g float, current is moderate and it's about 6ft close in and 15 ft further out if that helps at all

    Hook set with beads

Gonna pick up some #8, maybe even #6 gammy octopus hooks tomorrow. Probably gonna try the bare hook instead of red for a change, heard it's made of stronger wire.

    Hook set with beads

Alright so this weekend I lost 4 fish on beads. What kind of hook sets do you guys use with success? If the float is almost directly downstream of me, should I do a sweeping hookset to the side, towards the shore? I would imagine that would lodge the hook into the side of the fishes mouth. Or...

    Need rod advice

Okay I am interested in two different types of rods. 1) I am looking for a salmon pier rod (spinning) for casting mostly spoons. I currently have a shimano clarus, it has a lot of back bone and a soft tip which helps, but I always see guys that are using really soft rods that double over during...

Awesome fish guys. The one above is sick. For today I could only post pictures of knots/leaders exploding.
