Any guides? Or super nice folks

Muskiebait - Nice the way you broke down into logical pieces the thought process many now instinctively do, through experience. One thing I would add is to make mental notes of pools during low water periods to eliminate some mystery. Those holding spots will still be there during high water...

    Rainbow meat colours?

Rainbows are not on their way to die when they are running, unlike Pacific salmon.

    lure color

Interesting article. Color might be more useful for those of us fishing shallow waters but maybe not so much in the deeps http://dailyview.co/view-from-below-does-lure-color-matter-underwater/

WHAT DID YOU BUY TODAY? FISHING PURCHASES

Bought a fishing backpack from Cabela's today. It has good reviews and is on sale for a good price. I like how the setup includes an inner velcro divider where you can separate the inner backpack from tackle trays or if you want, you can remove some or all of the trays to create more space. The...

    Niagara Whirlpool Migration

I think its a "hot spot" because its the easiest to access. Theres lots of skunks in the water though, especially when the water is on the dirty side - with all that room the probability of a fish seeing your presentation goes down.

    Carp in the Whirlpool

Saw a guy land one a couple of weeks ago there, just before the cold temps came in. Seemed like a by-catch but it was a carp nonetheless

    James Bay?

Just wondering why James Bay or at least the Ontario coast isnt in the regulation. Wouldnt there be some char and maybe even some atlantics be in those waters? No one talks about it so I figure there must be a sanctuary or something...

    Frustration!!!!!

If you sidecast, I would add a swivel above your float to eliminate any line twist.

    Low water levels

When the cold air does come, i think we're probably going to get very heavy dumps of snow. Having said that if it doesnt happen, comtinued low water and high temps are liable to mess up fish populations for sure

FishHunter Fish Finder Wins on Dragons Den

I bought one of those last year but dont use it much. As long as the water is deeper than about 10 feet it works well. Shallower than that, it faults.

    Triggering following fish

Well this was the challenge this last weekend. I took this as a learning experience to see how they behaved. Mostly I was ignored but I did manage a couple of nibbles. How to increase that rate is the experiment.

    Triggering following fish

Mostly steels. This year I've experienced many follows at different places, right up to the shore. What's annoying is when they finally decide to nip, it is short of the hook. Oh the stench No cure but to try different suggestions when needed.
