Agreed. On the west coast. there are runs at different times of the year depending on the strain of the fish. I am guessing that at least some of this is related to genetic variations, which trigger their maturity and when to run. Our fish have west coast origins so I wouldn't be surprised if...

Sitting in an outrigger canoe in the S Pacific, 15hp motor flat out, trolling for sailfish/wahoo/mahi-mahi. The sailfish don't jump - they explode out of the water! Wahoo hit like freight trains, and mahi-mahi are just pretty :)

I've had guys step in front of me while I was changing lures. Politely I tell them how cool they are at being arseholes and wish upon them snags and bug bites. Then I walk away. There's more spots.

im always learning. The pic tells me how I caught it, when, where, etc, so I take lots of pics. The fish I consider 9s and 10s are the ones I try to share.

you can say that again! I lost the biggest on the day after a failed Wallace cast ended up with a birdsnest, and while untangling it, whammo! ... that helpless feeling when you are just waiting for the break-off lol

It took a roe bag. I thought it was a trout because it was smaller and was darting around all the others. Fought like crazy too.
