Canoe fishing is fun, as long as you can hold your composure when a fish strikes :mrgreen: I have an aluminum, but when I go to the in-laws place, we take the canoe out. Landed some really nice smallies, but if you hook into something big, you're going for a ride! Just be careful and watch...

Nice job! I'd take 55+ of any size for a 2 day adventure. Sucks about the goby's, but there are now fewer of them in the water :D

Personally, I have had really bad luck with Trilene of any kind. 3 spools in a row while spooling my rods, it either broke during the spooling, or when I went to tie my knots, it broke. They are a great company, but not one that I use for line. I now have 14 lb. Mustad Thor, and I love it...

Try and find out what the pike are feeding on i.e shad, perch Then take it from there, try and replicate what they are feeding on. Can't go wrong with chuckin or trolling spoons, bucktails

Mine has a very deep basket to it, landing a fish is not an even an issue. You can buy them pretty much any place they sell standard nets.

I like any month the season is open! If in the summer you are catching a lot of hammerhandles, just move out a little deeper, the big ones are there, just need a little more coaxing to make them appear. I look for deeper weedlines close to where the little ones are hitting. Anywhere there is...

Rubber nets are awesome to use. I threw a huge bait into mine for about 20 mins. or so, and everytime I walked over and picked it right out, no problem. I like them also because they keep the fish from getting hung up, which is terrible for the fish. They prevent fin splits, which is crucial...

The public boat launch that I know is in Cesarea, just outside Port Perry. It's a nice launch. If you look across the lake and just to the left, there is a huge weedbed that holds Walleye. Careful though, the Muskie usually frequent the same spots! It is a shallow, weedy, dark stained lake...

Musky Hunter and The Next Bite are way at the top of my list. I find the info to be useful, they actually break down the techniques they are using. I like fishing for Esox, so I'm a little more drawn to them.

I'll fish for anything that swims. But, if it came down to making one choice above all.............PIKE! :)

I shop bps all the time online. Never had a problem, get exactly what I ordered, 5 days is the longest it's taken to get to me. I was sceptical at first, but after the first few times, I got less worried.

I had no idea salmo made ice equiptment. I've only seen the topwater muskie salmos. Work deadly for the topwater bite.

Not sure what lake you're at, but Rapalas are a good starter. Jigs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits are also good.

I expected the price of gas to go up. I bought a boat for the year, so naturally the prices have to go up!! :twisted:

I just got the brand new Slow Death hooks from Mustad. Rig them with a worm harness and it's deadly. Much controversy over the name Slow Death, but has nothing to do with the fish that are caught, all about the action it creates in the water. Awesome hooks!

I can't make it down to BPS as often as I would like, but when I am there, an hour or two. Most of the time though I spend looking at the fish in the tank!!
