    Lake Wilcox

Apparently my buddy has watched people walk out onto Wilcox for a couple of weeks already. No clue of the ice conditions there, but good luck! Hammerhandle Pike, and crappies are in there.

monster crappie and the gear to take them

Wow. Nicely done! Is that a Humminbird 565 you're using? I used to run that unit too!

    Frenchman's Bay

If there is ice, the ice is very new! Be careful if you're going out there! Apparently it's been freezing and thawing quite a few times over December.

    St. John's Lake

The plant was always there, the fish are not toxic. Check the Guide to eating sportfish and you can always CPR if you don't feel safe eating the fish. There's some big walleye and crappie I got out of there during the bass opener last year!

    Any help catching Bowfins?

I caught a couple accidentally while bass fishing this year....One on a spinnerbait and one on a senko...Can't help you with targetting them though. Went back once with frozenfire intentionally going for them with worms and they never showed up! I got them in the summer in rmoderate cover, and...

    Weekend Report

Man those crappies are probably starting to get overpopulated if you're finding them in the middle of the summer and they are in your rocky shoreline! We've got to hook up again sometime, maybe I can take you out in my canoe this time :)

Good stuff! Sunday was TOUGH for me. Especially with the semi cooler weather that happened over Saturday.

    Rice Lake Bass Bonanza

Nice fish! How much weight are you putting on the carolina rig to go down the 10-15ft?

    Kawartha Small Lake Pike Fishing

It seems that you can't really go wrong with a spinnerbait for pike. Over the last couple of fishing trips, I've caught 3 hammerhandles all on a white spinnerbait. Depending on the weather conditions, you'll probably have to change the speed of your retrieve though.

    Ontario Bass Opener Contest

I really wished I caught enough to enter the contest. Caught numerous bass on the opener, but none of them were the quality you'd enter in a contest

    Walleye: Your favorite Tactic

Nice fish reef! You been fishing at your cottage as of late? I find that my favourite tactic will have to be cranking for them. It's just amazing that these guys hit and completely stop your bait in its tracks. My favourite cranks are the Cotton Cordell Wally Divers, and Xrap deep in the...

What can I expect at Jackson's Point now?

I would expect you should be able to find some small perch all around. And if you're lucky maybe a bass or two should be hiding around. Don't go targetting them until the bass season opens though!

    Are walleye Gulping Aliving?

I don't like the fact that there is the liquid to deal with most of the time when I am fishing. I usually keep the gulp bags and then put whatever I need into the bags so there is nothing to spill. Gulp to me works wonders, but like any bait you have, you will have to build confidence in it to...

    Buckhorn Crappie Hunting...

Bluegills are awesome to eat, you should really try if you haven't BTW, what were the water temps you were in at buckhorn? It was 66-68 in the southern end of Cameron lake on Saturday BTW, very good fishing looks ilke you had, good job! I am just itching for another successful crappie trip now!

    Youngs Point

Was there during the day today, not so good. No walleyes caught, as a matter of fact, barely any fish caught besides sunfish, perch, and rock bass. I did see a couple of nice keepers that swam by right into the shallows, they looked at my offerings but didn't commit. I still refuse to use...
