Thanks for the input Sillylion, I launced at port perry and fished along the west side of the lake. I caught 4 fish altogether from which 2 were less than a pound and the other two were HOGS close to 4-5 pounds. I will definitely will be going back to Scugog.

Don't bother with grenadier, from my experience last year the shoreline was uncastable since it was full of algae and weeds. The only decent spot was off the docks, but it's always packed with people and all you can really catch are sunfish. Try the centennial park pond, I've seen pike and bass...

From past experience (though I am not the most experienced) I have noticed that most of the big bass go for black colour and most of the small bass go for the white colour. Defenitely let us know how it goes and good luck!

Soft baits are your best bet, try the more natural looking colours in clear water. If its an extremely big bass, try an extremely big bait 8)
