    No Fishing in Downtown Chatham?

A friend of mine told me that downtown Chatham is completely off limits as far as fishing goes. I'v looked in the MNR book and could only see that walleye is closed for part of the year on part of the Thames. So my question is, can you fish in downtown Chatham?

what is your go to bait for catfishing?

I didn't mean to offend. Its just acrobatic doesn't come to mind when I think catfish. But if your in to pickerel rigs, check out how to tie a paternoster rig. Thats what I'v been using for a while now, its probably saved me 20 to 30 bucks in the last 2 or 3 years.

    Best Hook size for Channels

I like Gamakatsu circle hooks. I match my hook size to my bait, if I'm throwing small to medium baits I'll use a 4/0-6/0 circle hook. For really big baits I'll go up to an 8/0 circle hook. Using circle hooks does take some getting use to though, you don't set the hook rather wait for the fish...

Yeah I'v used shrimp a few times. I had a big bag of freezer burnt shrimp, its seamed to work better ofter it had been thawed and froze a few times.

I'd have to go with Killer Catfish, and European Maneater but I fancy catfish so I might be a little bias.

Do you need a fishing license for catching "garbage" fish?

Also if you have a handicap parking permit you can fish without a licence, and sport licence limits apply.

Channel Catfish Spot Near London Ontario?

I should think any fish up steam of London would be fine to eat. Also if you hit the Thames River in the spring as soon as the water is down after ice out it is great catfishing. I was catching 10 to 18lbers with worms!!, it would be even better fishing with cut bait.
