    Am planning on a trip to pickering but have read that they have stopped shore fishing near it? can anyone shed any light on this? was planning on carp fishing and would have no problem casting 80 yards or so to get near the flow. is this possible from the shore? thanks

    if the queue for the ferry is really long then try one of the water taxi services along the waterfront. costs a little more but smaller queue's and a much quicker trip.

    generally I would say in high air pressure, fish higher in the water and in cold air temps, fish lower in the water. do a web search for zig rigs - a great tactic for carp in colder temps. moving water always seems to be the best venues to fish for carp in the winter as they have to keep moving...

    is treated hemp seed or tiger nuts (chuffa nuts) available in canada? both are some of the best carp baits you can use.

    do you guys use peanuts (bird nuts at all) if you soak them in sweetened water (with lots and lots of sugar added) and then boil them up for 20 mins they make a very very instant carp bait.
