Having the proper rod and reel for desired lure weight(s) is the key to good casting distance. Put too heavy of line or lure into the mix will spell nothing but a major PIA. You need to decide how heavy of lures you will max out at and build a combo around that. Good luck

I have the Simms studs on my guides and I love them! Super handy on steep and slippery banks not just all about the river itself but all around great traction is a bonus. Been using them 2 years now and haven't lost any and they show no wear at all!! Well worth the few $$

Finally picked up a nice enough Steele to post here omongst all you kickass floaters who post so many beauties! Got her at the crack of dawn on my local Erie trib, not a work of art in the photo department though lol.

I bought a pair of these glacier gloves last week and found them to be tough to cast with, ended up going with the MJ look and only wearing the right hand lol! I also have the Simms windstopper fold over and found them to work better as they are not as sticky so the casting is easier IMO....just...

I agree a Gortex jacket is worth its weight in gold! I have fished several times in the pouring rain and NEVER had a single issue with getting wet. My 3 year old Redhead Paclite Gortex jacket is amazing and still looks as new as it did when I bought it, it has earned every penny I spent on it...

All the Erie tribs are suffering from VERY LOW water conditions and in a nut shell the fishing has been crappy so far to say the least! Man I wish I was as lucky as the guys in the east showing off monster bows and browns already......It could be a very slow fall/winter for the popular Erie...
