I've tried this in years past. Its great and different all in one. it defiantly helps with line twist in deeper water. i noticed that the retrieval rate isn't as fast as a spinning reel i find. I lost a few lakers using my drifter, but not sure if it had anything to do with the line pick up speed.

fast action. its a light , heavy duty rod. great for big water and big fish in my opinion. i ran 15lb main line on mine at the niagara and turned big chinnies in the current. these rods may not be for everyone.
