    Collapsible/Mini/Travel Rods

Apparently Shimano doesn't make the super-tiny collapsible, ultra-light fishing rod anymore. Seems like there's nothing quite like that old rod on the market. They do make this: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/shimano-exage-telescopic-rod-1781489p.html#srp I checked it out in store. Comes...

    Collapsible/Mini/Travel Rods

Hey Guys, I had a Shimano Exage Mini Telescoping Rod (TEXBXMTS165L) that I purchase in 2011ish. It's a 5'5" light (1/10-1/2 oz) spinning rod. I LOVED this rod and used it to catch many Smallmouth Bass, and even managed to grab a decent sized pike once. The other weekend I was fishing and my jig...

Thanks Shawarma, and FrequentFlyer. I too am leery of big water. Any reccomendations for boat rentals on Rice, or Balsam?

From Toronto, Drive, Rent Boat, Fish

Hey Folks, Normally around this time of year I head up to the camp in the Sudbury area and fish for a week in the rain and yucky weather, but life isn't going to allow me to do that this year so I'm hoping you can help me out. I want to take a day fishing trip from Toronto. I'll get up early...

Ashbridges Bay, Tommy Thompson Park Gear Help

Checked out Ashbridges Bay last Friday. Didn't catch anything, or even get a nibble. Has a small crankbait and then a few spoons. Lost a lure in the rocks on the one side. Great weather, had a nice time. I saw a large school of little silver looking fish. I also saw fish-zilla, I don't know what...

Ashbridges Bay, Tommy Thompson Park Gear Help

Thanks Guys, I'll definitely get a net and brush up on my pike mouth opening skills. I always have at least one pair of pliers and a backup. Thanks for the tip on the clackin rap too, much appreciated. For shoreline should I be in rubber books or other waterproof shoes, or will I be able to...

Ashbridges Bay, Tommy Thompson Park Gear Help

Hey folks, I'm a relatively new fishing enthusiast - I've always fished up at the camp by Sudbury where I have a boat and very little competition. This summer, however, I won't be able to get up there as much so I'm going to try fishing a little closer to home at Ashbridges Bay and/or Tommy...

    Fish Finders and Fillet Knives

Lots of great discussion here on Catch and Release. Let me clarify what I did, and please, I'd appreciate suggestions of what I was supposed to do. The lake I was fishing is a large lake in the Greater Sudbury Area and has many bass, pike, walleye and perch. People do fish there, but not many...

    Fish Finders and Fillet Knives

Hey All, I just spend a few days up in the Espanola area fishing bass and had a great time. A full stringer and fish dinner always make me a happy camper. Now that I'm back in Southern Ontario (running water is amazing) I have some gear needs and I'm hoping to get some reccomendations from...

Need Help! Finding a Lake up North

I'd suggest a flight to Wiarton. They have a courtesy car there, so, you could land and drive somewhere and fish. There's the Georgian bay, and a few inland lakes and rivers you might want to try. Good luck, and fly safe!
