first time lake simcoe ice fishing

If it is you first time, you will probably not have an auger. While ice rod and reel combos can be had for about $20, you'll be spending $70 or more for an auger. I suggest you go with one of the ice hut operators who can supply you with everything (equipment, bait and transportation out to a...

    DIY: Ice Fish Sled

Nice walleye! My smitty sled is 36" wide and it has no problem in deep snow. My vertical posts are 23" apart and mounted centred on 5 ' downhill skis, where the weight of a skier would be. My rope is attached to the front vertical and not the tip of the skis. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I got the Fenwick Elitetech Smallmouth, 6'9", ML, fast. Both rods were very similar but the warranty on the Fenwick was much better.

    pflueger president

I have been using Power Pro for a while with no problems but going to try Sufix 832 on my newly purchased reel. I've heard of issues with Power Pro purchased online, apparently lots of counterfeit stuff out there. Buy from a reputable retailer like Bass Pro, Sail or LeBaron and you should be fine.

How do I separate handle from auger section?

Well, I tried the torch, vice and pipe wrench combo method and it won't come apart. All I did was tear up the shaft with the teeth from the vice and pipe wrench.
