Anybody want to show me how its done?

I have fished 4 times in just this week and I'm probably still considered new so don't worry about it! Not sure about the particular rapids you have to deal with, but I usually start with a standard float rig with a decently long leader. Fresh roe bags with a bead (colour depends on water...

Where to go tomorrow for steelheading????

I remember almost passing out half way up some time.. then saw like a 10 year old girl with her family easily scaling those stairs. I felt pretty embarrassed lol but it truly is hard when you're as out of shape as me  but it's worth it. I've caught and seen others catch species I've...

    Personal Space on the River...

If it's shoulder to shoulder type combat fishing I just make sure I know the guy (or girl) to my left and to my right. We take turns, and I wait for them to reel in before I cast. Person down the river casts first then the order goes up. Space between us depends on space available, if we can...

Where to go tomorrow for steelheading????

My legs feel sore just thinking of that walk back up  and it's even worse if you're bringing home a sizeable fish

    Frenchmans bay

Frenchman's bay has been a waste of time so far for me this season. It's too shallow in most of the spots I've tried, and never see anyone catch anything. And tons of people fish there all the time. There are way better places within half hour drive from there

    Frencham's Bay

I was there yesterday. Pretty cold and windy! There were a few huts out but none of us were getting anything. I packed up after 2 hours and only marked maybe 2 fish the whole time and no bites. Man it's very shallow there, not really my cup of tea.

I agree, check bass city, they have a great selection of lines and tons of import lures and tackle.

    The Ultimate Photo Thread

My first year targeting steelhead, and here's my best so far! Caught locally. I didn't get out much so far this season so I'm very happy with this one!

The most disheartening item you lost in the drink

I've lost all kinds of tackle, expensive stuff too! Luckily never got my phone dunked though, I always keep it in a ziplock then placed into the waterproof pocket of my waders. Seen lots of my friends fall in the creek though, sometimes with DSLR cameras in hand :( This summer I almost lost a...

    Downtown Toronto Steelhead

Trust me, the water clarity was so good you could see about 8' deep to the bottom and pick out pieces of candy wrappers and pop cans sunk to the bottom. There was also minimal flow of water in the little lagoon I was at, it must be sheltered from the main waves. The browns were identified by...

    Downtown Toronto Steelhead

I saw a few flocks of bird that were fishing in the same area so perhaps there's a food source that the bows are tucking into before going up streams? I'm new to Steelies/Salmon so not too sure about their behaviour. Since it was crystal clear water, I could see they had interest in my roe bag...

    Downtown Toronto Steelhead

Hey Instapump, I know you from another forum! Not sure, I consider any area with a great view of the CN Tower downtown lol Not really talking about any trib, more talking shore fishing lake ontario. Wondering if there's any fish at the islands if I've seen them near the core.

    Downtown Toronto Steelhead

Hey guys, New time poster, but long time lurker. Looking for other fishermen who fish steelhead in the downtown Toronto area. Let's share spots, and talk fish, by PM of course. I was in the area yesterday and spotted some decent size (18"+) steelies along with a few small browns (12"). Some...
