    Bass Opener!

Only thing I caught on Bass Opener, Sunday morning down at bayfront on a 5" baby bass BPS Stick-0 Texas rigged weightless. For a moment I thought I had an Ontario record LM on my line lol

Went down to Bayfront this morning, second cast: OOS Bass. Moved spots, few minutes later: OOS Bass. Moved spots again and changed lures: BIGGER OOS Bass lol. When Season opens in a few weeks now I'm sure to be skunked lol.

What's your favourite way to fish for Walleye?

You guys are great thanks a lot for the help. Picked up some of those Lindy Rigs, some 1/8 and 1/4 oz Jigheads in black and white, and some various 3" grubs, leeches, and those new Meat Worms from Uncle Josh's in 3 different colours. Also have a couple of bucktail jigs I picked up at the...

What's your favourite way to fish for Walleye?

Hello friends! I'll be heading up to the cottage for a week at the start of June, and I plan on targeting and landing my first 'eye. I'll be fishing Four Mile Lake which I fished a couple of times last year, lots of SM bass but only one 'eye my friend got on a dropshot at night. I was hoping...

    Where to find Carp gear?

I've seen those guys' youtube videos, I've gotten a lot of good advice and tips from their videos around bayfront and the barrier, and they are entertaining at the same time.

    pflueger president

it's the size of the reel, and amount of line it holds primarily. 6920 6925 6930 6935 and I think it goes up to 6940. You can look at them on any tackle site (BPS, Tacklewarehouse) to get the specs on each and you'll see they are heavier as they get bigger, and hold more line. I got the 30...

    pflueger president

I've got a 6930 with 10lb regular Power Pro. They say the reels are 'braid ready' but I still filled the first 25% of the spool with mono backing to save some braided line.

First fish of the year! Bayfront Park

Thanks everyone! It was caught on a worm and bobber, and my gear is a Fenwick HMG 7' Medium/Fast and a Pfleuger President 6930 with 10# Power pro braided line, no leader.

First fish of the year! Bayfront Park

Thanks! I don't think you are allowed to fish off the docks off the marina, I think I've seen signs saying so, I just go as close to them as I can and cast nearby (not too close to the boats, god knows where my casts are going most of the time lol) I saw a video on youtube of a kid catching a...

First fish of the year! Bayfront Park

Well it was a long winter, my first dealing with 'Cabin Fever' as I only got into fishing last season. I've been spending a lot of time reading, and building my tackle box for the upcoming season, but as you will read here, sometimes the simplest methods are the most effective! My Friday...

    Pre season invasions.

If this thread shows anything it's that there's more good than bad in the world. I'm glad to be a part of this community, it seems that a large majority are in the right frame of mind and keep a positive outlook on life.

    Why is this reel $800?

For some people I guess even $800 is relatively not that much. If you've got a 40k truck, 40k boat, couple dozen combos for the boat and all the gear, fuel, launch fees, what's another 800 for a reel you are going to have utmost confidence in. I'm sure cheaper reels are just as effective, but...

    Carp 2014

If all you have is Hi Vis line, get a black sharpie and cut a slit through the felt top, so you can slide the last few feet of line through the marker and darken the line. This might only work with braided line, I don't know if fluoro or mono would hold the ink. Great thread here I can't wait to...

    Mono vs braid

I've got a reel spooled with 20lb Suffix Hi-Vis Orange (the older suffix, not their newest type, this older 6 strand is crap and very loud when reeling) and another reel with 10lb Power Pro original in Hi-Vis Yellow that I absolutely love. I also have 8lb Invisx Flouro that I use as leader...

    Rapala Scatter Rap

Have fun Kit, I picked up the countdown and minnow versions during the long winter, I've been patiently waiting for the right species to open up so I can use them. I've read a lot on a bass forum about them, but no personal experience yet. Apparently if they are retrieved too quickly they start...

    CCIW and Hamilton Harbour

I've been to the carp barrier a couple of times this year. I only caught a couple catfish but others were catching carp. One thing I wasn't aware of there is the strong current. I don't know if it's always like that, but I was getting hung up a lot on old line and rocks and had a lot of...
