18-20 foot boat (FULL WS) reccomendations?

Hey fellow anglers and anglettes! Got a quick question for ya guys. I just recently bought a 12 foot boat (which is great for this year) But I will be upgrading this winter or spring of next year. I will be moving out Just east of Toronto and plan to do plently Lake Ontario Salmon fishing and Lake Erie Walleye fishing therefore I would need something that will handle waves with ease. I have been checking out The Tracker v-18 WT as it has a very wide beam 102" and plenty room for downriggers,rod holders etc... If anyone could give me any reviews/reccomendations it would be very much appreaciated. Not looking to spend anything over 30k. Thanks!

just for fishing, personnally i'd go with a centre console model like a boston whaler, being able to walk around the captains chair is pretty valuable, especially on big water with big fish, you can sometimes find some really nice used ones for under 20 grand, lund has some nice boats as well, if you were looking for a fishing/rec boat, i'd highly recommend a searay, my dad has an 86 searay seville 21ft, really nice boats, rides extremely well, holds 4 people comfortably with seating for 6

Sounds like a charter boat! I am looking more towards multi-species fishing though. Something I would be able to fish Lake Ontario for Salmon with ease yet be able to fish smaller water such as Rice Lake,Lake Scucog,the Kawarthas etc.. I would buy A used boat but I dont 20k to put down on a boat right now (who does lol!) So I will be making a down payment and making payments from there. I have checked out a few Lunds and they have some gorgeous boats but I cant seem to find any prices on their site! Grrr..
 
can always get a bank loan with a down payment, doesn't need to be done through a dealer, especially if you find something that you can't pass up, just tell the bank its for a private purchase

That's an excellent question. Using the boat on Lake O. you want at least a 18ft boat. Most 18ft boats will give you a nice wide beam for stability in rough water. You might also want to check out the 19ft just to compare the difference's between the 2. There are so many manufactures you can choose from. But make sure you get one that has the layout that will suit your needs. Purchasing a boat is like buying a house, you want a layout that will be practical for your use on the big water. Once you choose the right boat, horsepower should be the next question. Most manufactures will now offer packages with base outboards and give you the option to upgrade to a bigger hp. I would recommend you look at 80% of what the boat is rated for. This will give you enough power for load and speed to get you back home safely on the big water. Four strokes are pretty standard now and offer amazing fuel milage with trolling ability. I hope this helps in choosing the right boat :)
