1st Pike Casts

Was downtown yesterday for work so I decided to stop by one of my Pike spots and low and behold the ice was already gone. I ran into one guy fishing that I know from previous years and we chatted and he was nice enough to hand me one of his rods and I took a bunch of casts with it for about 30 minutes but did not catch anything. He also didn't catch anything but he did mention that someone that was there earlier caught one in the 6-7 lb range using a minnow and bobber.

Felt great to chuck a big jerk bait for Pike.

I'll be up in the Kawarthas this weekend. Ice just moved out off most lakes last week. While I'll be tragetting crappies mostly, I'll have a baitcast ready to go with a jerkbait to scratch that pike itch lol.
