Hey All,

Noob fisher here from the GTA.

Fished as a casual hobby growing up, now looking to fish in order to stock up on meat.

Looking to learn about everything from gear to etiquette.

Long-time outdoorsman, but my fishing knowledge is very juvenile.

I'll eat anything palatable, but my favourites are salmon, mackerel and crappie.

Welcome to OFF.

Here's a chart of the eatable fish you can catch at the waterfront

Familiarize yourself with the regs for the area you wish to fish, there are limits on the amount of fish you can keep (on your person, and in your freezer at home). Im not sure stocking up on meat is an option in Canada, the regs are pretty restrictive on possession limits, unless you want to eat carp and a few other rough fish that don't have any limits.

If I was to eat fish I catch...I would stick to crappie, perch and bass. But I have been C n R most of the time and only keep something out of request. But Winter caught rainbows are pretty darn good. Small mouth bass crappie and perch.

Every time I post a pic from my phone, it turns out sideways
Used to happen to me when I took a picture in landscape mode, it autorotated it when uploaded. There are a few apps like quickpik that auto fix it, but depends on android/apple etc.

Annoying either way!
