i defs gotta work on my pose that pic does not do that fish justice at all cuz of the way im holding it lol that fish was probly in the neighborhood of 10 pounds and 30" for sure, it barley fit threw the 6" hole! lol

Finally got myself an ice shelter and fish finder this last week and got out for my first real ice fishing adventure on Sunday. I decided to try to save a couple of bucks by using my regular transducer for the ice and although I thought I crafted a decent t bar I was unsuccessful..... back to the old drawing board as they say.
Nonetheless with a great landscape to look at, good company and excellent weather I wasn't going to let my electronics woes get me down. so I set up my shelter and started jigging away old school style.
I guess my drag was set really lite as I kept getting twitches but couldn't tell for sure if I had a fish. so i tightened up my drag and started reeling in my very first walleye ever... was I ever surprised to get this beauty. can't wait to get out again. Big thanks to E.N. for getting me out there.

Went out for lake trout on Simcoe, over the weekend with my brother. Caught 4 or 5 lakers and one whitie, took some photos while we were out there.

That fish in the last pic was a lot of fun. He came in hard and fast and slammed the bait then gave a great fight for a fish his size. What an attitude and it looked like his gut was going to burst, He certainly had the feed bag on.
