I have thought about C.Tire but when I compared prices Sail, and Bass Pro are cheaper on MANY items that I am looking for, I just want the best bang for my buck . :) But there are some items that I will buy at C.Tire because the price is better. I do comparison shopping I want the most I can get for the least. ( as I think most people do ).

That's a beauty list man. Can't speak much to walleye or trout fishing but you seem to have most of your bases covered for bass.

Only thing I would suggest is to pick up some tubes. Sizes 2-4" should have you covered for a lot of uses...a mix of darker (brown/green) and lighter (white/clear) colours would be helpful so you can switch it up depending on the weather and water clarity. Grab some tube jigs and some EWG (extra wide gap) hooks in sizes 2/0 to 4/0 to rig them.

Good luck!

Thanks... One update i have decide to go with a Shimano Sedona 2500 reel instead, A local store has them on sale right now for $54.99. It will save me a few bucks, so i can use the extra cash for other odds and ends. ;)

Also now that you mentioned it, Can anyone out there suggest must have's for walleye's? I figured a few of my choices should be ok for trout.... I think.

Oh one more thing....As you all know i am new to fishing, so this may sound like a silly question but here it goes...

I was wondering if you guys can inform me on a certain "thing" I see that there is a recommended line weight as well as lure weight for some rod and reel combos. Now would i be correct in thinking that when buying lures...etc... You should stay within these numbers? If you went "outside" these numbers what difference would it make? Also is it better to go to the high side of the recommend weight or low side, does it really matter?

Just want to be sure to buy the correct stuff, I am going this weekend to buy everything, and want to be sure to cover all my bases. Would the "sales " people help with choosing the correct "stuff"?

J9 rapalas for walleye, great little lure, never used one til i got to oshawa, all i ever used was a 3" twister tail with a red jig head, limit caught in under 45minutes back home

its not a big issue. stay within the ratings for optimum casting distance. otherwise expect bad casts.
Good to know, thanks for the feed back

Yes, unless you go to CTC or Basspro!
thank you, sounds like someone is not a big fan of Bass pro salesman. LOL

So ........went shopping today! Very fun, and productive. I picked up everything on my list, plus a few extra spoons and spinners and live target walking frog + live target frog popper.

Also went with the Shimano 2500FD and Berkley Lightning Rod Shock ( 7' med/fast, 4-12lb ). I am off tomorrow to get my license.

Again thanks to everyone for all the help/input/feedback.

Thanks again, I figured it would take time patience, I am very much looking forward to all the challenges fishing has to offer.
