Thanks for posting. Incredible how much people are willing to pay for a fish. I hope that fishermen will back off fishing for rare fish like this so that they don't go extinct...

thing is they wont stop killing those fish because they use fish parts as medicine to save human lives. I think killing a fish to save a few lives is a fair trade anyday lol If it was just for the meat like the idiots back in the day that fished lake o tics till they were non left thats a diff story but if its saving lives kill em all lol

100% agreement here Noob. Sadly it's not likely to happen. Just look at our Salmon rivers here. People are willing to risk fines in the thousands of dollars to snag a Salmon. Hang half a million profit in front of their noses for one fish? I think they will risk it.
Sad to say, but the people fishing for these fish don't care about the survival of the species, they are worried about their bank accounts. Not sure what kind of penalties they have for catching this fish, but it probably isn't enough if people are still keeping and selling them.

Not sure if they actually help people or are just traditionally associated with medicine. many animals, like tigers, are harvested for traditional medicine, Not much proof that they are actually effective generally speaking.

if you're that concerned about their impact on medicine why would you kill them all? And another point, why are our lives so much more valuable than theirs? If anyone has a link I'd like to see it as well.
