I think this one would now be the new world record? (if it was caught under the standards)
I certainly respect the WORLD RECORDS (of carp) but add my thoughts on this (here in Ontario):
Firstly, I'd love to catch a fish of this size.
I know they are SUPER SMART (Cause everyone is out targeting them) .... BUT: When it comes to some of the LAKES /PONDS and RESERVOIRS I think it has an element of HUMAN CONTROL kinda like steriods or genetic breeding.
Follow me on this one ....
The Carp I catch here in Ontario are mostly "WILD" - they cruise the lakes and make it on their own.
They have not been FED to FATTEN UP or BRED to be the biggest stock in the pond.
I dont pretend to know anything about all the conditions in Europe, (Let alone this circumstance) yet do know there are many lakes and ponds that they have specifically SET UP for the fish to reach these kinds of weights.
Nothing wrong with that at all! Just my opinion on how it is sometimes "Managed".
When I hit into a Pike on lake Ontario, A bass, A sucker..... I know that there is more of that "WILD" factor playing a role in the SIZE.
Doesnt make it better, just make "ME FEEL" that I have played on the most ultimate of playing fields: MOTHER NATURE in an UNTAMED ENVIROMENT.
Anyway, WHAT A PIG! That carp looks like it swallowed a Baseketball.
Nice Pic!
