With spring so close and still lots of snow here in Bancroft I can't wait to hook my first Brook trout of the spring ice off have spent the winter tying flies and will be nice to get the first one tore up. Last year I did great in the spring using black stoneflies and extended green Drake's later on I know I am addicted to the sport of fly fishing big-time and seei g a fish rise to a fly that I have made is rewarding to know that the little time it took was worth the effort

Also for anyone that has not been to Algonquin it has some of the nicest lakes and rivers for Brook trout not to mention the splake and lake trout in the spring is also very good.it has been my home to fish for years and I have had some really great luck getting brookies in the five and six pound range with my largest laketrout being 33 in the spring using a clouser minnow will keep anyone posted on what's working this year in my area great fishin to all of ya!!!

I'm hitting kiosk and surrounding areas (hopefully) first weekend of May. I'll def post a report. For now steel in the ditches

Love the park - no big trout for me though which is fine, just being able to be there is enough for me.
