Hi, my name's Nicholas I'm a 15 year old and have been fishing for almost my entire life. I live in Markham right around Brother Andre High School and The Garden Basket if you're familiar with those.

I was wondering if anyone knew any good spots around Markham to fish hopefully close but anything helps. I'm open to fish for anything Bass/Panfish/Carp ECT...
I've been to Toogood Pond but didn't have much luck as the carp are tricky as hell. Also if anyone has any tips I would love to hear them.

Thanks,
Nick

Great to hear you been fishing for most of your life. Have you tried Wilcox Lake? I've only heard about it, not been there myself. What bait were you using on Toogood for carp? I was curious about dough baits and googled it and found some people have their own recipes. You might try that, the only carp I ever caught was with corn, pretty standard.

Good luck. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks,

I was using worms corn and dough balls as bait for the carp I got many many bites/ nibbles but because the carp suck on th bait instead of biting it as a whole it was so difficult (well at least for me it was :) )
And no Ive never tried Wilcox Lake but I might check it out.

Thanks For The Input,
Nick

Hey, I live right around that spot as well :) Wilcox Lake, sadly, has no public access to it whatsoever. Their website says you can pay to park at the trailer park and fish for the day, but I called and in fact you cannot even do that anymore. So it's out... For both of us. Google Haynes Lake (decent shore access... Has pike and bass) or Island Lake (almost no shore access though... Has bass). Both are about 20 mins away. Good luck!

I fish wilcox allmost everyday. good soot for pike, carp, bass. was there yesterday my partner got some really nice pike. accsess is tough. parkings free. enter buy sunsetbeach, bayview side. no launch. we carry a small boat in. allso a small pond behind mcdonlands/beerstore has carp and catfish. not a bad spot....ppl a pigs unfortunately its a eye sore....put some corn on and have fun!!

Yes Wilcox lake is a lot of fun. Nice pike and carp. Small water craft Is defiantly way to go there. Although early morning you can catch carp from the dock at Richmond hill canoe club

Where are you guys catching carp on wilcox and with what? I live across the street from there and have only caught a hand full of pike and pan fish, mostly blue gill? And there is no trailer park at wilcox, i think your confusing wilcox with musslemans lake which has virtuially no access by public

There Are bass at toogood if you go try there again you might bump into me :p I'm still trying to figure out the bass there as they are very picky! But there are good size ones there sometimes I even see 1-2 lb jump out of water :) if I have a day off I'll probably will be there around 4ish :)

hey ALN have u caught bass at toogood? what were u using?

I used to live in markham..my parents stil do..i moved out. am in scarborough now..i fished lake wilcox from the beach area...just to the right of the beach there was a little spot u an acces water...caught panfish...toogood pond never caught nething..and ive tried milne park...nothing there..but i have seen ppl catch fish there.

Hooked a small bass with a live target frog once, I was debating About getting a walk the dog frog, it'll do alot better at too good. The bass there are surface hunters so imma try using a fly when I go :)

Welcome to the boards. We need to start using the beta map n start checking out the GTA ponds for life I realize this was once done before. But if we all start checking out holes. We could do some weeding out of areas that are dry or minimal amounts of fish. :)
