Annual Creek Clean Up - Newcastle

Third year now - crazy how the time flies. Slated for Sunday October 20 at 9 am. We will be cleaning up the banks of a very popular creek east of Toronto in Newcastle. We meet at the parking lot, hang out until everyone gets there and hit the banks armed with garbage bags and gloves to give the creek a face lift. Each year about 15- 20 bags of trash are pulled out with some cool finds along the way :lol: Typically it takes around 2 - 3 hours of time and is a great way to meet and greet fellow members.

Date : Sunday October 20 at 9 am.

Where : Newcastle - approx. 30 minutes east of Toronto ( PM for parking location )

Last year we had 10 guys that came out and we had a great time with good laughs and some fish afterwards I supply water bottles and gloves and the SWNA is supplying the garbage bags.

I can't miss this for the third year in a row. I'm in Toronto tomorrow at my sisters place with my girlfriend so it could work out. Count me tentatively in.

It's going to be extremely windy by the lake. I know because I'll be surfing!

PS. I notice no requests for me to supply coffee, why is that? :lol:

If the surf wasn't going to be up, I'd have been in. Forecast is for 30 knot west winds early morning, waves will be huge at the east end of the lake.

i herd about this only a few days ago ...... was planning on going and suprising peoples ....(its been about a year since ive been active ) but unfortunetly unforsee issues with family n ish had me @ the hospital in the morning ..... none the less .... im glad to hear you guys went out again this year and did this clean up .... i was @ the willy a few weeks ago ... and i was beside myself in discust with the amount of trash and cutt up salmon heads..... no one else cares about the rivers it seems ..... so to have a day or two to go out and clean up the trash thats left there .... only helps us for future years of fishing to come ... Tight lines my friends

you know, was kinda funny to see who stopped to help pick up trash or take bags up to the bin, all the broken english folks, the others just kept on fishing. goes to show that some of them "loogans" actually do care
