i remember, tis why i decided to have a go at making them, i used a nymph hook instead of the caddis curve mainly cause my caddis hooks are size 6 and my beads don't fit on them lol

This are just some of the ideas playing in my mind ....... creating and make it work ..... but i'm not ready to do just yet. Similarity to catching your own worms and landing a fish or feeding a fish is rewarding enough.

JMatt - please tie another variation. I suggest using a chunk of that rabbit fur you have on hand - no skin, just fur. Plus some chenile or wool for the body. IMO the result will be leech-like and undulate well like they do when swimming. I like the flash in the tail.

use the rabbit for the tail? i used black marabou for the tail with some of that crystal flash, and peacock herl for the body instead of the black chenile normally used

A friend of mine in Scarborough turned me on to using rabbit. It is as soft and mobile as the traditional marabou, but is a lot tougher - so especially when fishing in lakes where snagging the bottom happens less - the fly can last through several fish, or weekends.

the only reason there are specifics is cause some dude a long time ago said its supposed to look like that. long as it looks like a bug, the fish will eat it.

now, stop fighting over my long hairs wooly bugger :p lol
