Wanted to take a week or 2 off in the summer and get flown in on a float plane to one of these remote cabins in northern ontario. I've looked at a few places online that rent out cabins but can anyone recommend a business from personal experience?

I will be working as a sous chef and a guide at one north of Wawa in the summer. I dont want to plug them because I personally know very little about the lodge but if you go to the WFN website they have a list of reputable lodges and fly in destinations.

if you dont mind a bit more distance check out north quebec's www.creetourism.ca areas
did a fly in many years ago with my uncle and some of his friends and it was legendary. been meaning to go back for a while now
friendly people and decent lodgings. can go solo or guided

nothing beats finding your own spot imo, but if you just want the relaxing 2 weeks in a lodge and catching worthy fish all day cant go wrong

this is the one id go to if i was planning a trip anytime soon
unless someone else here post some nice hidden gem ;)

obv its a huge area so your mileage may vary

I can't speak from personal experience as I've never taken a fly-in or tain-in trip. But I've heard a lot of good things about the train in trips, pretty affordable compared to fly in. I could be totally wrong, but it seems like a great idea, get to see nature on the trip to your lodge, and then fish almost untouched waters.

hmmm, I always wanted to go, but most likely I will try it this year, if the funds permit it, but JEFFSIMMS mentioned a trin in trip, that I wouldn't mind going, first is cost effective second it will be a lot more enjoyable and less stress than driving for like 10 hrs. IMO. but fishing in almost untouched waters will be brilliant and I should say more productive.

Another add on to my post is that the Algoma region of Ontario is becoming increasignly popular as a train/fly/drive in location.

Is it over pressured In Algoma region then? I've never gone but I've researched it a bit, the species options look pretty good.

It is beginning to become more and more popular but you are pretty unlikely to see another angler...

My 2 cents. Temagami. Lakeland Airways. I haven't used them for a number of years but they are still in operation from what I hear.
They will put you on Pike, Bass, Lakers, 'eyes, or what you want.

Funny story, my dad and 3 uncles went on a fly in fishing trip for pike and walleye in Northern Ontario.. They drove 6 hours to a small lake to catch a plane to take them to another lake.. While they waited for the plane they fished off the dock and caught a pike on nearly every cast... it was crazy good fishing. they flew off to the lake, got about 10 fish in 5 days, the fishing sucked.. they caught more in an hour waiting for the plane then they did in 5 days on this remote lake....but they had fun..

It goes like that at times. We flew into a lake in the Elliot Lake area for Pike. We fished all day, trolling, casting at dead-fall and weed-lines. Got nothing, but when we got back to the dock at nite we got them like 90 from our dock.
