just wondering if anyone has been down to longpoint and if their is any browns or rainbows in there? I heard there was but don't know if people fish it or not?

I doubt anyone on here would tell you if there was any bows or browns in there, best thing to do is go fish it

without rain, i think you'd be pretty hard pressed to find any fish in any trib.

having said that...... this would be the best time to do a recee if you don't know the river. the water is low and clear, allowing great access and sight lines to where the fish will be holding when the rains do come.

Important information is usually at the top of a page

  • Naming Rivers: The naming of any specific river or tributary is not permitted in the publicly viewable general discussion forum. Instead, please refer to the river by the general area it is located, ie “East Trib”, “West Trib”, “GB (Georgian Bay) Trib”, etc. For example, you are not allowed to say "I had a great day fishing yesterday on Wilmot Creek", instead, we encourage members to say "I had a great day fishing yesterday on an East Trib". The former statement should be relegated to the reports sections (coming soon), away from public view.

Yes. Don't name waterways for trolls and dare I say white-bucket.........
We did our own leg work, other newbies can too.
That is actually half the fun of fishing in my mind.

Alfie.

Water levels still extremely low. A few boots spotted. This creek normally doesn't fish till mid November. Good luck

It would be best to stay at the lake simcoe message board if you're getting the answers to your inquiries. If you can't appreciate the help regarding tips & techniques, you are in the wrong forum. We don't do countless of fishing miles & hours just to feed it to someone who just registered and expect to get fed with vital informations. If you're able to find OFF & become a member...I think you're savvy enough to find water where to fish...peace.

must be one of those people that expects immediate gratification upon asking a question, where did the art of conversation and making friends go.....

There are many lurkers on this site. If all of a sudden someone told you that they caught 5 browns yesterday at that spot, what do you think will happen? What we do here is try to protect the fishery by not allowing that sort of information to be made public. Bring up a chair, sit down and join the crowd - a lot of fine folks here :)

especially when it comes to lake fairing trout species.

the Simcoe board covers a large lake, with many different types of fish to be caught. steelhead and browns in a select number of rivers is a totally different kettle of fish.

Ask about the smelt run while they're running - get a bunch of smart aleck responses or perhaps hear the sound of crickets. Welcome to online fishing boards :)

rules are the same for everyone, contribute a little and exchange that kind of info through pms. its not a knock on you, or anyone else, the policy is in place partly because we don't want to contribute to the sh!t show that exists out there, and partly because, yes, we are a little selfish in that we've done the leg work to find a great location, and don't want that information to be public knowledge

at any given time, and you can check the numbers on the front page, in the last 120 minutes, 25 members, 1560 'guests' aka lurkers, all of which have full access to browse all of the topics and sub topics without joining, i would be willing to bet a very expensive fly rod, that at least half are looking for this exact kind of information
