I could see pool rotation happening in the Maritimes. Nice people there!
That's an interesting read! 2 casts and take a step downstream.JDean said:Pool rotation is a common occurrence on alot of the easy coast Atlantic salmon rivers. Check out some of the sights, such as the Margaree river and such. Very strict and enforced etiquette when fishing the pools when others are present. http://margareesalmon.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/english.pdf

I landed several fish still in skein a week after opening day last year. This year will be earlier than last year by a bit, but some fresh fish are still possible. We where still catching drop backs on Victoria Day weekend.Brendan said:So there isn't much hope of any fresh fish coming in by mid April? I guess I'll just have to hope for a few post spawners to be coming down then.
If you want fresh fish later on I would sugguest fishing lake huron and superior and forgoing any lake ontario tribs other than possibly the niagara river.Brendan said:JDean- where you off to for a trip?
Porkpie- good, fresh fish are what I want!
Sharwarma- Try taking 2 casts per step and you'll get yelled at in some spots! Cast, step, swing, repeat. if you roll a fish you can throw a few extra casts at it but other than that you gotta go through the pool relatively quickly
