Hey guys, like alot of us i own a pair of Canadian Tire waders, and after a ton of use out of them theyre finally leaking..ive done patch work on them, but they dont want to stay waterproof. I know a bunch of people on here use Simms waders, and I want to know if theyre worth the money. I dont want to spend a couple hundred bucks on waders, but since 90% of fishing I do is wading in rivers, streams, creeks for smallies I think it might be worth the money. What do you guys think? Thanks

Yes, definitely. The quality can't be described with words, you'll have to try it :p

Great post, I hope we get some feedback. I as well have CT waders and they do leak around the chest pocket area..If the quality is there I will put the money down forsure. Wading for smallies is awesome

Ya my waders are leaking around the seam between the boot and leg and also the knee...after an hour or two on the river I'm ankle deep in water, its pretty bad. And ya wading for smallies is the best especially on an ultralight! :)

Oh damn, I just come out looking like I pee'd my pants upwards haha...For the price I paid, $80 maybe and on sale I was pretty stoked especially for my first pair.

Haha I'd rather have the leak u have than mine, mine are kinda useless when your feet are swimming in water :p that's a good price, I think I paid just over 100 for mine

I used 2 pairs of cheap waders before I switched to Simms. Generally (from my personal experience and some fellow anglers I talked to on the rivers) the cheaper pairs seem to last around a year, then leaks start to show up, which defeats the whole purpose of having waders. The 3rd pair would add up to say $300 in 3 years, so I said screw it and went for the Simms.
I have not regretted making the switch. They are good, and that's why people keep recommending them...

Thanks for the replys guys. One other question...i know the waders range from 200$ to over 700$ I was just wondering if the build quality (how long the seams would hold up) wuld be the same on all of them. When you go higher up are just paying more for more options?

Thanks for all the responses! I'm really considering the Headwaters. They seem like a good pair of waders. Has anybody owned/ used the Headwaters? I'd be mostly using them for smallmouth fishing in the summer and steel heading In late fall and early winter. So I want them to be breathable yet warm when I need them to be.

I had the headwaters, after probably 50 days on them, they developed a few leaks, but I was bushwacking etc.

I have the G3s now and no complaints so far, the material is a lot thicker from above the knee and down.

I have the Headwaters (as my fiance would of KILLED me if I had got the G3's). I have only used them twice but both times they have been great. I know that's not much to go on but yeah. They are super comfortable and they kept me dry.

Did Simms back you up on the Headwaters wwarrant? Where were the leaks? Do you think they were primarily caused by the bushwacking?

I have two pairs of the g3's I swear by them I put them though tons and they Stand up plus all of there gore-tex waders are made In the USA

I might just be an owner of Simms waders soon! I dont think I can justify spending the money on g3s, but I'm really considering the headwaters.
